Here’s the back story:
I grew up watching my dad surrounded by stress as he grew a small business. He was working long hours and extended weekends, building the family business without much support.
I didn’t want that kind of stressful lifestyle for myself, so when I grew up, I earned my accounting degree and started a secure career in private sector, non-profit, and government finance. I thought that I wouldn’t take home as much stress and responsibility working for someone else in a normal 9–5 job as my dad did being self-employed. But, much to my surprise, I quickly started feeling that same overwhelm my father experienced in those early years.
Searching for the root of the problem, I asked myself: Why is self-employment so stressful?
That’s when I realized that it doesn’t have to be — that if business owners had the right support, they wouldn’t have to operate from a place of fear, anxiety, and overwhelm. And one of the biggest sources of that fear, anxiety, and overwhelm?
It’s often money.
I started Lis Lee Accounting in 2017 to offer that kind of support to entrepreneurs just like you.
