“Before BFF I had a lot of anxiety about all things money and taxes. It was like an impending doom that reminded me I'm probably not doing things right, wondering if I’ll get audited, and I wasn’t confident with my financial decisions. Now I better understand how to manage my cash flow and feel confident with the financial side of my business.”

“Before enrolling in BFF, I felt a little cloud hanging over my head that blocked me from showing up more confidently in my business. But BFF makes business finances approachable. Lis has a really calming presence and a unique ability to simplify and break down a big, scary thing that I was avoiding for a long time.”
— Kelly McIntee, Live Well With Kell
Hi, I’m Lis!
I’m a trained accountant, QuickBooks Pro Advisor, and your teacher in BFF. Working for several large organizations like Deloitte (one of the “Big Four” accounting firms worldwide), the International Justice Mission, and the U.S. Department of State taught me a lot about business finance, and now I’m passing down that knowledge to you.
That’s why I stared Lis Lee Accounting in 2017: to bring my corporate-level expertise to the small business world. Let’s work side-by-side to streamline your finances so you can make empowered financial decisions, drive profitability, and go after your business goals with confidence!
Have questions? Let me ease your worries!
Who is Business Financial Foundations (BFF) for?
BFF is for the hard-working solopreneur only a year or two into their business. They want to learn how to manage their own finances so they can make business decisions more confidently. Some BFF members might choose to outsource their bookkeeping at a later date as their business grows, but many do it themselves, having learned how via the course.
How long does the course take?
I recommend 8 – 12 weeks, though BFF is a pre-recorded course so you may take it at your own pace.
What tools do you use in BFF?
I recommend QuickBooks Online* to all of my clients and members, and that’s the technology we’ll be using throughout BFF.
*Please note that the subscription cost to use QuickBooks is not included in the course price though, as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, I can offer my members a discounted rate on the platform.
Will this course help me DIY my finances forever?
It depends. Depending on your business goals, you might be able to do your own bookkeeping forever. Other business owners (especially those who want to hire a team) may need to outsource bookkeeping to a professional at some point. BFF is meant to bridge the gap to either help you manage your finances long-term or at least until you need custom support — all with less bruises and bumps along the way.
Do I have lifetime access to the course?
Yes! You’ll always have access to the course content. In addition, you’ll also have access to the private Facebook Group and live Q&A calls with me. Most BFF members appreciate having a community to collaborate and learn from one another.
Why can’t I purchase the course now?
BFF is specifically designed for beginning solopreneurs ready to streamline their finances, but it isn’t for everyone. Because of the nature of the program, it’s best if we can have a phone call briefly discussing your goals and current stage of business to confirm if BFF is the right support for you.
“I was afraid to dabble in Quickbooks. I tried to use it before and failed miserably. Now I know how different areas of my business are connected to my finances. And even though I hand it off to an accountant now, I feel confident with how to understand what’s happening in my business.”
